W „Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible 2021” wskazuje whisky, które uważa za najlepsze... na świecie. Od 2003 roku Murray skosztował i opublikował opinie o ponad 20 000 whisky, tegoroczna, osiemnasta edycja 2021 zawiera notatki dotyczące około 4500 whisky - w tym 1252 nowych not degustacyjnych! Jak sam wyznaje, próbuje dziennie 10-15 nowych whisky I wraca do wcześniejszych, próbuje ich po raz kolejny, sprawdza, czy nadal trzymają poziom. I utyskuje, że w tym roku poziom whisky był gorszy; zwłaszcza poziom tych z beczek po sherry mocno go rozczarował. Najlepsza whisky na świecie? Kanadyjska!

Tym razem tytuł najlepszej whisky świata, czyli World Whisky of the Year, trafił do Kanady i giganta branży spirytusowej, Beam Suntory. Najlepszą whisky została Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye, zrobiona ze słodowanego i niesłodowanego żyta, zabutelkowana z mocą beczki 65,1%, oceniona na 97,5 punktu. Wcześniej ta sama whisky miała zaszczyt otrzymać tytuł Canadian Whisky of the Year w latach 2006 - 2009. Przypadła degustatorowi do gustu

Według Murraya whisky oferuje takie aromaty: słodki, drzewno-dębowy z nutą wanilii. Smak jest wyjątkowo gładki, z nutami karmelu, wanilii i nutą czekolady, zrównoważoną pikantnością żyta i czarnej porzeczki. I ważne: podaż jest mocno ograniczona! Ceny - tutaj.

W edycji oznaczonej rokiem 2021 tytuł najlepszej szkockiej whisky zdobyła Glen Grant 15YO Batch Strength 1st Edition, a najlepszym szkockim blendem kolejny raz została Ballantine’s 30YO. Irlandzką whiskey roku została Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy, japońską – Nikka Whisky Single Malt Yoichi Apple Brandy Wood Finish, europejską (bez Szkocji) – Puni Aura Italian Single Malt.
